The Roys are a five piece rock and roll outfit from Melbourne who have been playing together for a couple of years - to cater for their upcoming album launch, The Roys made an emergency engagement with Granite New Media to design and develop a website.
With a page full of keywords and a copy of their album for inspiration, we cooked up a site. They haven't quite got all of their content together yet, but we've created them a flexible flash framework for a dynamic site that will serve them well into the future. View the Roys Website.
Sense is a web based server management application developed by Thalamus systems. Thalamus systems engaged Granite New Media to brand and skin sense during its development. As the development process was occurring in tandem with the design process, Granite New Media developed a centralised template or "code style guide" for the developers. This gave them a central point of reference to copy and paste pre-baked user interface elements. By providing them form, developers could dedicate their time to function.
The original code style guide for Sense, with its 13 lovingly hand crafted icons (including this
realistically modelled hourglass) can be viewed here.
Sally Squad is new a kids TV show coming soon to the Australian Christian Channel. Sally Squad is the brainchild of one of Granite New Media's original and best clients, Natalie Miller. Ageing Research Online is a government website developed to facilitate the centralised online research and discussion of ageing and ageing related issues within Australia. Granite New Media was engaged to develop a brand identity for the newly created ARO. View the ARO Brand Identity.
The brand identity was thoughtfully created to hold value and meaning, the symbolism may be of interest. A tree was chosen both for its strong example of positive ageing, and as a symbol of the hierarchy, connection, structure and flow of the organisations that would work together under its banner. Its foliage forms an outline of Australia, and its autumn hue demonstrates the change of seasons and passing of time - the purple being identified as the primary shade for the brand. The tree was styled after the unique Australian White Cedar, one of only a handful of native Australian deciduous trees.

Peter Bailey is one of Australia's most highly regarded food photographers and winner of the 1993 Fuji Australian Photographer of the Year Award. If you've walked down the frozen food section of your local supermarket, if you've been to Red Rooster, or if you've watched any number of TV commercials in the last 10 years, you've seen his work. Peter's website aims to achieve two goals, primarily to be a simple and easy to browse gallery of his photography and TV commercials. Secondarily the site aims to securely provide his clients (many of whom are international) with live video feeds of his current shoots; saving them time and money. The DVD is used as a marketing tool which provides a quickly accessible gallery of Peter's work. Granite New Media was responsible for the development, content management system, interface design, re-branding, creative direction, and graphic design of the Bailey Photographics DVD and website.
